At Making Sense CIO, we believe that memories are precious treasures. That’s why we’ve created the MAKING MEMORIES program, designed to spark joy and share stories in sensory ways.
Making Memories
Explore Our Reminiscence Collections:
- Step back in time: We’ve developed a range of themed collections filled with handling objects from across the decades. These everyday treasures ignite conversation, unlock memories, and inspire reminiscing.
- Sensory Fun: From the comforting weight of a Bakelite telephone to the clack of typewriter keys, our collections engage the senses
- Spark Stories: Each object holds a story waiting to be told. Our collections act as prompts, encouraging lively conversation and fostering connections between generations.
Beyond the Collections:
-
- Engaging Workshops: Our interactive workshops make use of both the Reminscence Collections and digital imagery to create a stimulating and enjoyable environment for reminiscing and storytelling.
- Preserving Memories: We’re committed to capturing the richness of these experiences. We record oral histories and create digital stories in a variety of ways, ensuring these memories are preserved for future generations.
- Support our work – buy our reminiscence cards designed to trigger memories and start conversations, ideal for family members, carers and volunteers

“The session sparked project ideas, provided new materials, and engaged even quiet residents. We'd love to continue - it brings fresh faces, materials, and ideas for both residents and staff.”
