“After the last session,I’ve felt less alone in my role,
knowing others face the same challenges.”
This was feedback from participants in our pilot project, funded by Arts Wales’ Arts in Health and Wellbeing Fund, in partnership with the Wrexham Social Care Team and their Dementia Lead.
The project included three artist-led residencies in care homes and creative well-being sessions for activity coordinators, giving staff time to explore creativity, enjoy the calm of artistic activities, and recharge. Participants were able to take away new ideas and materials for their sessions with residents, while connecting with colleagues who truly understand their challenges
Take away new ideas and materials for their sessions with residents and share experiences with people who understand!
“I feel more confident introducing creative activities like
this after seeing how easy and enjoyable they can be.”
A full report is coming soon and you can read our case study here which is published on WAHWN’s website.
